experimenting with type

 this image evokes sadness and feeling of loss; as I was sitting down to create an image with type, I received a phone call from a friend telling me his best friend just passed away.
I wanted to create something that will represent the emotion and the emptiness , the things that were never said and the things that were said but never heard.

 I picked this room as my background image because it seems to tell a story, traces of people that have been here are scattered all over . I have adjusted the image contrast to give a more dramatic affect.

 

 I have added the letter against the wall and blended it in via blending options / color burn  and added the texture above , using a clipping mask . with a history brash  took some of the texture out to create a more refined realistic looking wall.

this little girl is a known character , Samara from the Ring . I selected her out using the quick selection tool , and added her to the image blending her in using blending options/ color burn. I than used a second copy of with low opacity to really capture the ghost image .

to give the bottom of the image more depth I used the green water texture on 75% opacity .

to finish I created a frame using brush strokes , and lines from a rap song by Notorious BIG  called Suicide .



 

second version to lost in lala land

I decided to redo lost in la la land , i felt the image needed some more work , so the feel of a dream really come across.
 

I have added some butterfly shaped brush strokes and a tree to cover the brown street sign in the original image.

lasso the moon

this is a screen shot of  my most recent project. it has been a bit of a struggle since I am not  proficient in photoshop, and  using an older version at home. also some of the methods we have learned in class are not available in photoshop CS3, so i had to do some research before i could compleate it.  following to this image I've included the images that i  used to create this image; on teh screenshot you will find the links to each of the layers.

unlike the twilight image, this one reflect a more positive dream like feel.

 i used two images from Google to form the background and the smoke and butterfly texture. i adjusted the levels and temperature of the original image and  pink cloud filter with very low opacity to tie the image.

twilight in paris

this photograph was taking at a cafe in paris. i was trying to portray the dark side of me or atleast if i had one i suppose this is what it would look like...
