fairytale nights

this is another image combining raster and vector graphics.

i have selected the moon via quick selection tool in photoshop

i used this galaxy image as the background ,placed the next image of bright planet above it , and than lowered the fill and opacity
this silhouette of a fairy i traced with illustrator and than transferred to photoshop

to add the last touch i used this nice magical texture and added some brush strokes.

promotional postcard

this is a project i did for a video rental shop in Brooklyn . i took the photograph myself and edited it in Photoshop. My intention was to promote classic film , since the store carry's a large selection of old classics.

exotic swimmer

this piece combines raster and vector in one image , using the live trace option > photo high fidelity i have traced the woman's image.
the next stage was bringing the line drawing into illustrator, tracing it and painting using live paint option.

i took the two images , woman and "tattoo"and opened them in photoshop. i placed the  the blue background and added some water texture to it.

book cover 1

This book cover came to me as i was doodling these flowers in my sketchbook. and so i decided to create something using them. i originally draw them in graphite , but then painted them with graphic markers.

i than scanned them in , and did some color adjustments.

I found an image of a woman writing on line, i made it into black and white and than posterized it.
I used this blue paper texture to tie the image and added some flower shaped brush strokes

little people project

this image didnt come easy to me , i was trying to think of a sorrel yet amusing image. it finally came to me when i was talking to my co-worker who is also a fisherman.
i started by looking for a photo of a man fishing .
the next step was to find "the bait" or rather "the catch"... so i looked and found a bungee jumper.
this cliff was the perfect spot for little people fishing...

these are the images i used to create the plants on the cliff.

experimenting with type

this image evokes sadness and feeling of loss; as I was sitting down to create an image with type, I received a phone call from a friend telling me his best friend just passed away.
I wanted to create something that will represent the emotion and the emptiness , the things that were never said and the things that were said but never heard.
I picked this room as my background image because it seems to tell a story, traces of people that have been here are scattered all over . I have adjusted the image contrast to give a more dramatic affect.

I have added the letter against the wall and blended it in via blending options / color burn  and added the texture above , using a clipping mask . with a history brash  took some of the texture out to create a more refined realistic looking wall.

this little girl is a known character , Samara from the Ring . I selected her out using the quick selection tool , and added her to the image blending her in using blending options/ color burn. I than used a second copy of with low opacity to really capture the ghost image .

to give the bottom of the image more depth I used the green water texture on 75% opacity .

to finish I created a frame using brush strokes , and lines from a rap song by Notorious BIG  called Suicide .
